Acadamy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Founded in 1927 by 36 of the most influential men and women in the motion picture industry at the time, the Academy is an honorary membership organization whose ranks now include more than 6,000 artists and professionals, including composers and musicians. This organization is most famous for its annual Oscars award ceremony. Jerome Moross received a nomination for best soundtrack for The Big Country.

American Music Center (AMC) The New Music USA Online Library is a vast and comprehensive digital database that contains over 57,000 works by more than 6,000 composers, and includes over 14,000 media samples (recordings and scores).
